Chris Pugliese

Senior Researcher at American Institutes for Research

Chris Pugliese has a diverse work experience spanning a range of roles and industries. Starting in 2007, Chris worked as a Legislative Intern at Holland & Knight LLP, conducting research on clean energy Congressional hearings and providing research reports for attorneys and clients. In 2008, Chris served as a Legislative Fellow at the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives, where they reported on hearings related to trade, agriculture, and the environment, and conducted research on the water shortage in the Lower Colorado River Basin.

In 2009, Chris worked as a Researcher at ASIANetwork, contributing to research projects. From 2010 to 2011, Chris was a Conflicts Researcher at Hogan Lovells. In 2012, Chris joined the American Institutes for Research (AIR) as a Health Research Intern, and later became a Research Associate in the Health Program. During this time, Chris led projects for federal, state, and foundation clients in quantitative and qualitative research. Chris's work at AIR involved survey design, data collection and analysis, as well as presentation of findings to project directors and clients. Chris's expertise includes Stata and MPlus statistical programming.

In 2021, Chris was promoted to Senior Researcher at AIR, demonstrating a strong body of analytic work and leadership in the Health Research and Evaluation division.

Chris Pugliese pursued a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and Anthropology from William & Mary, which they completed in 2009. In 2007, they participated in a faculty-led Archaeological Field School also at William & Mary. The following year, they went on a study abroad program at The University of Edinburgh, focusing on Linguistics. Later, in 2011, Chris obtained a Masters in Public Policy from Georgetown University, specializing in Public Policy.
