Emily Morton has a varied work experience in the field of education and research. Emily currently works as a Researcher at the American Institutes for Research, starting in July 2023. Prior to this, they were a Research Scientist at NWEA from June 2021 to July 2023. Emily also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at both the Center for Education Policy Analysis and the Center on Adolescence at Stanford University Graduate School of Education from September 2016 to June 2021.
Emily has gained additional research experience through various internships and roles. Emily was a Summer Research Intern at NWEA in August 2020, a Summer Associate at RAND Corporation from June 2020 to September 2020, and a Summer Research Intern at Public Policy Institute of California in June 2018. Emily was also a Research Assistant at Massachusetts Healthy Families Evaluation: Early Childhood from January 2015 to May 2016.
In terms of teaching experience, Emily worked as a Teaching Assistant at Tufts University from January 2016 to May 2016 and as an Assistant Teacher at Jackson Walnut Park Schools from April 2012 to June 2012.

Emily Morton attended The Windsor School from 2005 to 2012 where they completed their high school education. From 2012 to 2016, they pursued their Bachelor's Degree in Child Development and Psychology at Tufts University. Following that, from 2016 to 2021, Emily attended Stanford University, where they pursued a Joint MPP/PhD degree in Public Policy and Education.
