Joseph Taylor

Principal Researcher at American Institutes for Research

Joseph Taylor has a diverse work experience in the field of research and education. Joseph is currently a faculty member at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs since August 2018. Prior to this, they worked as a Principal Researcher at the American Institutes for Research starting from June 2018. From August 2016 to September 2018, they served as a Principal Scientist at BSCS Science Learning. Joseph was a Principal Associate/Scientist at Abt Associates from December 2014 to August 2016. Before that, they had a long association with BSCS, where they held various roles including Director of Research and Development from July 2010 to December 2014, Director of the BSCS Center for Research and Evaluation from June 2006 to June 2010, and Science Educator from July 2001 to June 2006.

Joseph Taylor completed their Ph.D. in Science Education from Penn State University from 1998 to 2001. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed) in Mathematics Education from Ohio University between 1991 and 1992. Additionally, Joseph Taylor obtained several certifications from the U.S. Department of Education, including What Works Clearinghouse Certified Reviewer, Group Design Standards 5.0 (obtained in April 2023), What Works Clearinghouse Certified Reviewer, Single Case Design Standards 4.1 (obtained in May 2022), What Works Clearinghouse Certified Reviewer, Group Design Standards, v. 4.1 (obtained in April 2020), and What Works Clearinghouse Certified Reviewer, Regression Discontinuity Design Standards, v. 4.1 (obtained in March 2020).
