Kianna Pete has a diverse range of work experience in various sectors. In 2023, they worked as an Indigenous Education Intern at the American Institutes for Research, where they provided expertise and perspective as part of a research team. Kianna also worked as a Summer Conference Intern at Teachers College, Columbia University, where they maintained data and ensured smooth conference operations. Additionally, in 2023, they served as an Indian Country Fellow at the Western Leaders Network, where they promoted conservation initiatives and public policy in the Interior West.

In 2022, Kianna was the Co-Chair of the Multicultural Recruitment Committee in Undergraduate Admissions at Columbia University, where they contributed to diversity recruitment efforts. Kianna also worked as a Research and Development Intern at the Association on American Indian Affairs, conducting research and contributing to various projects that support Indigenous communities.

In 2022, Kianna was a Research Assistant and Intern at the Research for Indigenous Social Action and Equity (RISE) Center at the University of Michigan, where they assisted in psychological research and conducted research on Native identity and political engagement. Prior to that, they served as a Social Media Fellow at Intersectional Environmentalist, where they crafted social media communications and created educational resources on Indigenous environmentalism.

In 2021, Kianna worked as a Community and Access Intern in Undergraduate Admissions at Columbia University, focusing on community outreach efforts. Kianna also gained experience as a Client Services Intern at Frontline Education, where they provided support and responded to client inquiries.

In 2020, Kianna worked as a Constituent Services Intern for the U.S. House of Representatives, where they assisted with constituent inquiries and support.

Kianna Pete obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and Ethnicity & Race Studies from Columbia University in 2023. Kianna then went on to pursue a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Politics and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, which they are expected to complete in 2025. In addition to their academic qualifications, Kianna also obtained a certification in IRB Social and Behavioral Researchers from the CITI Program in May 2023.
