Sarah Bates has a strong background in system administration and technical support. Sarah started their career in 2008 as a Systems Administrator at Team Technology Inc., where they provided LAN support in a SMB environment. Sarah was responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems hardware and software on Windows platforms.
In 2011, Sarah transitioned into the role of Systems Analyst at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Access 2000 (A2K) Implementation, Maintenance, and Support Services Contract. Here, they provided technical expertise and support for the implementation, maintenance, and remote access support of 36 A2K servers nationwide.
In 2016, Sarah was promoted to the position of Technical Lead at Team Technology Inc. In this role, they were responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance requirements of 36 A2K servers and AWS production and development servers for the ATF. Their responsibilities included working with Oracle databases, JDBC, JDK, XML, SQL Developer, Apache Ant, and Tomcat.
Most recently, Sarah has been working as a Systems Administrator at the American Institutes for Research since November 2019. Their work primarily focuses on projects such as device rollouts, software deployments, computer system imaging, application testing and deployment, hardware and software troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and support.
Sarah Bates attended Virginia State University from 2003 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems. In April 2019, they obtained a certification in "Amazon Web Services: Design and Implement Systems" from LinkedIn.
