Thomas Weko

Managing Researcher/higher Education at American Institutes for Research

Thomas Weko has extensive experience in the field of education and policy. Thomas began their career in 1999 as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Washington State Higher Education Coordinating Board. Thomas then moved on to work as a Senior Analyst at the GAO from 2001 to 2005, and as a Senior Analyst at the OECD from 2005 to 2007.

In 2007, Thomas joined the National Center for Education Statistics at the US Department of Education as an Associate Commissioner for Postsecondary Studies. Thomas held this position until 2012, when they became the Director of the Policy and Program Studies Service at the US Department of Education.

Since 2014, Thomas has been working as a Managing Researcher in Higher Education at the American Institutes for Research.
