Ye Deng (Evelyn)

Data Scientist Associate at American Institutes for Research

Ye (Evelyn) Deng has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Ye (Evelyn) started their career as a Tutoring Fellow at the University of Chicago in 2014, where they provided math tutoring to at-risk youth as part of an intervention to decrease violent crime rates. Ye (Evelyn) then joined ETS in 2011 as a TOEIC Test Item Writer, where they participated in different stages of test development and authored over 800 test items for the TOEIC listening test.

In 2018, Ye worked as a Data Analyst at UNDP, where they analyzed survey data on irregular African migrants to Europe using R. Ye (Evelyn) presented their findings on the migrants' social, emotional, and financial well-being, which informed policy suggestions for the annual UNDP report on African migration.

Currently, Ye is working at the American Institutes for Research. Ye (Evelyn) started as a Research Assistant in September 2015 and later took on roles as a Data Scientist Assistant and is currently a Data Scientist Associate.
