Andrew Strickland

Andrew Strickland is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in legislative and regulatory affairs. Currently serving as Senior Legislative and Regulatory Counsel at the American Psychological Association since June 2020, Andrew previously held the position of Deputy Director, Federal and State Legislative Relations at the American Psychiatric Association from June 2017 to June 2020. Prior experience includes serving as an Attorney at the AARP Foundation from July 2013 to June 2017, and as a Staff Attorney at Disability Rights North Carolina from May 2009 to June 2013. Andrew began their career as an Associate at McDermott Will and Emery from August 2007 to April 2009. Andrew holds a J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law, awarded in 2007, and a B.A. in Communication Studies and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, completed in 2004.
