Joanne Griffith has a diverse and extensive work experience in the media industry. Their most recent position is as the Chief Content Officer of APM Studios at American Public Media Group, where they oversee the editorial vision and brand voice for the organization's podcasts. Prior to this, Joanne founded En(title)d! For Leaders of Color in Media, a conversation and coaching space for leaders of color in media. Joanne has also worked as a Lead Producer at ESPN and as the Managing Editor at KQED. Joanne's experience at Marketplace by APM includes roles such as Assistant Managing Editor, Digital, and Executive Producer, Marketplace Weekend. Before joining Marketplace, they held positions at KPCC - Southern California Public Radio, BBC News, National Public Radio, BBC Radio 5 Live, and BBC Radio Northampton. Their roles ranged from reporter and host to producer and editor, showcasing their skills in various areas of media production.
Joanne Griffith attended Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism in 2023 for an Executive Leadership Program. In 1996, they received a Post Graduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Westminster. Prior to that, they completed their BA (Hons) in American Studies and Politics at the University of Wolverhampton between 1993 and 1996.
