Maya Grassi

Maya Grassi has over 14 years of experience in the legal field. Maya started their career as an Associate Attorney at Dorn & Klamp, where they represented nonprofit associations, public charities, and foundations in transactional matters. Maya provided counsel on tax-exempt legal issues, contracts, employment law, and governance. Maya also assisted clients in obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status. In 2007, they joined the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) as a Staff Counsel. During their time at ASA, Maya progressively advanced to the role of Assistant General Counsel, where they managed legal affairs and provided counsel on ASA programs and operations. Currently, Maya holds the position of Associate General Counsel at ASA, where they continue to provide legal advice and oversee the contracts management process.

Maya Grassi obtained a Juris Doctor degree from the American University Washington College of Law, where they studied from 2002 to 2005. Prior to their law degree, they earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from American University, graduating in 2002. Maya Grassi also holds certifications in the District of Columbia Bar, which they obtained in December 2006, as well as the Maryland State Bar and Massachusetts State Bar, both obtained in December and November 2005, respectively.
