Gregory Guthrie has extensive work experience in editorial roles. Gregory started their career as a Newsstand Coordinator at Borders in 2002. Gregory then worked as a Copyeditor for scholarly journals at the American Diabetes Association from 2003 to 2004. Gregory then became an Associate Manager (Book Editor) at the American Diabetes Association, where they managed consumer and professional book projects from 2004 to 2011. From 2011 to 2015, they served as an Associate Director (Managing Editor) at the American Diabetes Association, overseeing the development and production of books and e-books. After that, Gregory joined the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), where they held various roles, including Senior Specialist, Clinical Content (Cancer.Net) from 2015 to 2019, Senior Manager, Clinical Content from 2020 to 2021, and currently as the Associate Editorial Director, Patient Education since 2022. At ASCO, they have been responsible for overseeing editorial staff, analyzing and improving online and print patient education products, and leading the editorial strategy for the Cancer.Net Blog.
Gregory Guthrie completed their education with a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in English Language and Literature from the University of New Hampshire in 2002. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Iowa in 1998. Before pursuing their undergraduate studies, Gregory Guthrie earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Liberal Arts from Skyline College in 1996. Gregory completed their high school education at Oceana High School between 1990 and 1994, without any specified degree or field of study. In 2020, Gregory Guthrie obtained a certification in "Leading at a Distance" from LinkedIn.
