Debbie Maizels

Debbie Maizels serves as the Hon. Secretary for the Medical Artists' Association of Great Britain since July 2018 and has a long-standing freelance career as a scientific and medical illustrator with Zoobotanica Scientific Illustration since 1994. With extensive experience in producing original illustrations for diverse clients across the fields of life sciences, medical studies, and earth sciences, Debbie has collaborated with various prominent journals, including Nature Research, where regular contributions are made to multiple publications. Additional roles include serving as the primary illustrator for the New Phytologist journal and providing illustrations for several nephrology and stroke-related publications. Debbie holds a BSc in Botany and Zoology from the University of Reading and a BA in Scientific Illustration from Middlesex University.
