Shady E.

Shady E. is an accomplished academic and researcher, currently serving as an Associate Professor at the American University of Beirut since January 2013, and previously held the position of Assistant Professor. Prior to this role, Shady E. worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Qatar Foundation for a brief period in 2012 and completed a Ph.D. at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, where research focused on Structured-Information Retrieval and Language-model-based ranking. Earlier experience includes teaching assistance at the German University in Cairo and a software engineering role at Bibliotheca Alexandrina, contributing to significant projects such as the automation of the library's digital lab and the development of President Nasser's website. Shady E. holds multiple degrees in Computer Science, including a Bachelor of Science from Alexandria University and Master's degrees from the Max-Planck Institute for Informatics and Saarland University.
