Susan Hardwick

Susan Hardwick has extensive experience in the finance and water industry. Susan is currently serving as the President and CEO of American Water since February 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at American Water Works Company, Inc starting in July 2019. Before joining American Water, they worked at Vectren, where they served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from June 2014 to February 2019. Susan also held the position of SVP of Finance at Vectren Corp from August 2013 to June 2014. Earlier in their career, they worked at Cinergy as an Assistant Controller from October 1992 to December 1999.

Susan Hardwick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Indiana University Bloomington, completing their studies from 1980 to 1984.
