Alberto di Ronza has extensive work experience in the field of medical science liaison and genetic research. Alberto currently holds the position of Medical Director for Batten Disease at Amicus Therapeutics, where they started in July 2020. Prior to this role, they served as Associate Director and Senior Manager of Medical Science Liaison at the same company.
Before joining Amicus Therapeutics, Alberto worked at Baylor College of Medicine as a Postdoctoral Associate from January 2011 to August 2018. At TIGEM, they were a PhD Student from November 2007 to December 2010, where they conducted research on the Transcription factor EB (TFEB) and designed multifunctional proteins for studying cytoplasm/nuclear translocation. Throughout their career, they have also performed RNA expression studies using qRT-PCR techniques.
Alberto di Ronza completed their education in the field of biotechnology at Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli. From 2002 to 2006, they pursued a degree in Biotechnology with a focus on General Pathology. Subsequently, in 2006-2007 they furthered their education by completing a degree in Medical Biotechnology with a specialization in Medical Genetics at the same institution.
