Anna Lynn Smith

Anna Lynn Smith, AICP has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of transportation planning. Anna Lynn is currently working as the Vice President of Strategy & Planning at Amtrak since 2022. Previously, they worked at HDR as the Northeast Transportation Planning Lead/Associate Vice President from 2019 to 2022, where they were responsible for coordinating staffing, group growth, and leading projects related to transportation planning. Anna Lynn also served as the Transit Planning Business Class Lead for Pennsylvania at HDR, where they led and participated in various intercity passenger rail projects. Anna was a Board Member at PenTrans from 2010 to 2020. Before that, they had a long tenure at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, where they held roles such as Senior Supervising Planner, Project Manager, and Planning Department Manager from 1997 to 2019. Anna Lynn briefly worked as an Engagement Manager at 10EQS in 2013 and as an Independent Transportation Consultant from 2012 to 2013. Anna also served as a Board Member at Trinity Cooperative Day Nursery (TCDN) from 2007 to 2010. Anna Lynn began their career as a Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton from 1993 to 1997.

Anna Lynn Smith, AICP has a Bachelor's degree in Civil and Architectural Engineering from Drexel University, which they obtained from 1988 to 1993. Anna Lynn also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Marketing and Operations Management from Villanova School of Business, completed from 1994 to 1999. In addition, they have obtained the AICP certification from the American Planning Association in 2000.
