Ajay Chandran

Ajay Chandran has over 18 years of experience in the food and beverage industry. In 2020, they joined Amyris as Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, responsible for enabling industries to transition to clean, natural, and sustainable products. In 2018, they joined Chromocell Corporation/FlavorHealth as Vice President Commercial, leading the FlavorHealth business division which specializes in developing and commercializing natural taste modulation FEMA GRAS flavors. From 2011 to 2018, they were with PureCircle as Head of Region & Board Member, South Asia, responsible for setting and executing short and long term plans spanning sales, marketing and technical for stevia ingredients. Ajay also held positions of Senior Director, Global Key Accounts, Director-Global Key Accounts, Corporate Sustainability Director, and Director Global Marketing. From 2002 to 2011, they were with YKK Corporation of America, holding positions of Senior Manager- Global Marketing, Regional Manager-Global Marketing, and Global Marketing Manager.

Ajay Chandran's education history includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance & Marketing from Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, obtained between 2000 and 2002. Ajay also obtained a Masters equivalent (Post Graduate Diploma) in Marketing & Merchandising from the National Institute of Fashion Technology Delhi and a Bachelors in Science in Physics from Delhi University. In 2016, Ajay Chandran attended Harvard Business School for a course in Aligning and Executing Strategy. In 2017, they obtained a Certificate in Negotiations from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, Ajay Chandran holds certifications from Miller Heiman (Miller Heiman LAMP - Large Account Management Program, obtained in 2015) and from EMERITUS Institute of Management (Negotiation and Influence).
