Cooper Chien

Cooper Chien, MBA, PMP has over 20 years of experience in IT operations and infrastructure management. Cooper began their career in 2000 as a Trainer and Consultant for Lanop, Inc. Cooper then moved to Intecs International, Inc. in 2001 as a Network Administrator. In 2002, they became a Network System Manager for Flextronics (formally Gtran Wireless). In 2005, they were a Technology Product Manager for Micro2000, Inc. In 2006, they became a Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer for Datavo - Business Data & Voice Solutions (Formally PCS1). In 2007, they were a Senior Manager of Data Center Infrastructure & Operations for Atlas Development Corporation. In 2014, they were an IT Manager, Robotic Fulfillment Center, Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Logistic Sortation Center for Amazon. In 2016, they became a Technical Program Manager, AWS Infrastructure –Data Center Global Service for Amazon Web Services. In 2017, they were a Director of IT for Huawei Technologies, where they were awarded the Quality Star Medal in 2018 and Individual Gold Medal in 2019. Cooper also championed digital transformation during the 2020 pandemic by designing and delivering Software-as-Service, IoT, and AWS solutions. In 2021, they became the VP of Technical Operations for Amyris.

Cooper Chien holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, which they obtained between 2016 and 2018. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Washington University in St. Louis, with Majors in Economics and East Asian Studies, and a Minor in Art. Cooper also participated in a One Year Exchange Student Scholarship Program offered by the Japanese government at Waseda University, where they studied Economics and Japanese. Additionally, Cooper Chien holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Univeristy of Northern Virginia. Cooper also has several certifications, including a Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Symantec Certified Technology Architect (SCTA), and Security+ Certification from CompTIA.
