Alex Kilbo

Data Scientist at Amyris

Alex Kilbo has worked in a variety of roles since 2009. From 2009 to 2012, they were a Lab Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant (investigating eumelanin and how well it bound to various heavy metals), and Lab Helper (leading students in basic programming methods and assisting in debugging faulty programs) at Oberlin College. From 2012 to 2014, they were a Research Programmer at Carnegie Mellon University. From 2014 to 2015, they were a Computational Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University. Finally, from 2015 to present, they have worked as a Data Scientist, Senior Associate Data Scientist, Associate Scientist III, and Associate Bioinformatics Scientist II at Amyris.

Alex Kilbo attended Oberlin College from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a B.S. in Biochemistry and Computer Science. Alex then went on to Carnegie Mellon University, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) in Computational Biology between 2013 and 2015.
