Limited Partner Relations Specialist

Full-time · New York, United States

Job description

About AngelList:

We exist to accelerate innovation by increasing the number of successful startups in the world. We want to give more people the opportunity to participate in the venture economy by building the financial infrastructure that makes it possible for more people to invest in world changing startups, and build tools for startups that help them run their operations so they can focus on building.

AngelList is the nexus of venture capital and the startup community. We support over $124B+ assets on our platform, and we’ve driven capital to over 12,000 startups, almost 282 of which are unicorns. 57% of top-tier U.S. VC deals involve investors on AngelList.

While our scale is large, our ambitions are even larger – we’re innovating on the financial infrastructure for venture investors and the startups they invest in. Come build with us.

About the Role:

AngelList is seeking an LP Relations Specialist to join our Limited Partner (LP) Relations team. We are looking for a collaborative, curious, highly analytical, customer- and process-oriented teammate who will own communications with a range of investors on the AngelList platform and work cross-functionally within AngelList to resolve challenges and support best-in-class LP support.

In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of our LP customers and how each part of our business impacts their experience. You will directly contribute to our ability to scale our solutions for both new and existing LPs by informing, designing, and building systems and processes, and you’ll be expected to support relationship management with our key customers.

You:

  • Have 0-1 year in a customer-facing role with operational responsibilities. (this is a perfect role for a new college graduate with solid intenships and an interest in venture or someone who has 1 year experience on in banking, venture or startups)
  • Have high empathy and are able to effectively understand the perspectives of multiple stakeholders.
  • Have exceptional communication skills. In particular, you will act as the voice of AngelList to our customers, and the voice of our customers to our internal stakeholders.
  • Take a data-informed approach to decision-making, and have excellent analytical skills.
  • Recognize edge cases so that we can address them proactively and improve our products and services to mitigate them in future instances.
  • Have experience evaluating, implementing, and customizing customer success software and services, with a keen eye toward creating a seamless experience for investors.
  • Work well in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Are comfortable with both high-level strategic decisions and getting into the details.
  • Have 1-3+ years in a customer-facing role with operational responsibilities.

In your initial four weeks you’ll focus on:

  • Building context around our LP base, including both institutional and non-institutional LPs.
  • Building context around our products, services, and roadmaps.
  • Learning and executing customer workflows around onboarding and ongoing support.

Over the next 2-3 months, you’ll:

  • Take responsibility for most LP inquiries with limited supervision.
  • Work with our internal teams to incorporate learnings into improved customer communication systems.

By the end of your first six months, you’ll:

  • Be working almost entirely autonomously to respond to LP inquiries.
  • Be able to project manage improvements to our internal system.
  • Own our internal playbooks for responding to LP inquiries.

Other characteristics of the ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience in an early-stage, high-growth company.
  • Knowledge of how to navigate and be successful working across multiple teams in a startup environment.
  • An understanding of core financial concepts and venture capital.
  • Team player—everyone needs to pull for each other, challenge each other, share best practices, and take on team projects to make the entire organization better.
  • A deep love of startups (https://venturehacks.com/save-the-world).
