Mahdy Shirdel

Mahdy Shirdel is an experienced data science and machine learning professional currently serving as Director of Data Science and Machine Learning at Angi since September 2024. Previously, Mahdy held the position of Director of Machine Learning at Taskrabbit, where responsibilities included leading teams to develop marketplace optimization services across various domains. Prior to Taskrabbit, Mahdy was a Senior Manager of Machine Learning Engineering at Beyond Limits, overseeing model production and cross-functional engineering activities, while also engaging in research collaboration with Caltech. Mahdy's earlier roles include Senior Data Scientist and Research Scientist at Chevron, focusing on fiber optics sensing and large-scale data processing. Mahdy holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Computational Fluid Dynamics from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology.
