Jessica Dirks

Jessica Dirks has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. Jessica started their career as an Associate at Fulbright & Jaworski in 2003, before transitioning to a teaching role at YES Prep Public Schools in 2004. At YES Prep, they taught various middle and high school social studies courses. In 2006, Jessica joined the Harris County Department of Education as a Models Coordinator. Jessica then worked at Teach For America from 2010 to 2013, serving as the Managing Director of District Partnerships. From 2013 to 2020, they worked at TNTP as a Project Director. In 2015, they also took on a role at Teaching Trust as the Senior Director of Planning, Talent & Operations. Jessica's most recent position is with the Ankeny Community School District, where they started in 2020 as the Chief Officer of Human Resources and Legal Affairs. In 2021, they transitioned to the role of Chief Officer of Legal Affairs & Strategic Initiatives.

Jessica Dirks attended Ankeny High School from 1992 to 1996. Jessica then completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology at Rice University from 1996 to 2000. Following that, they pursued their Juris Doctor (JD) degree in law at the University of Iowa College of Law from 2000 to 2003.
