Nurse Practitioner at Anne Arundel Dermatology

Robert J. Masters, FNP-BC is a board certified nurse practitioner who completed his undergraduate training at Colorado State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and minors in Physical Education and Secondary Education. He then graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, and was commissioned in the United States Navy in the Nurse Corps. After several stateside and overseas assignments, he was sent to graduate school and completed his Master of Science degree in Nursing from Hampton University. He has been certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2000.

Mr. Masters was the first ever Family Nurse Practitioner to be credentialed as a medical provider in Dermatology in the United States Navy. After serving his country for 20 years on active duty service and one year of Government Service, Mr. Masters retired from the Navy and joined former colleague and mentor Dr. Brian L. Johnson, founder and medical director of Virginia Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center, in 2007. He is qualified to diagnose, prescribe and treat patients of all age ranges in the field of Dermatology and to perform dermatologic surgery as well.

Mr. Masters is married to the former Mana Krismer of Chicago, who is enjoying retirement and mastering the fine art of quilting. They have 3 sons: Nicholas a law student at Wake Forest University who will matriculate into the US Army JAG Corps upon graduation, Robert Jr. a 2nd year Civil Engineering student at VMI on a 4 year Navy ROTC Scholarship, and Nathaniel who will study Engineering at UVA also on a 4 year Navy ROTC Scholarship.
