The Materials Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the proper handling of all “in scope” materials entering and leaving the Anteris manufacturing facility. This includes the control of quarantine and realized starting materials, quarantined and released finished goods, and the packing and dispatch of samples for testing. This individual will prepare shipments of finished goods for supply directly to customers in Australia as well as to Anteris’ overseas warehouse / logistics locations.  The Materials Coordinator also acts as back up for the Procurement and Logistics Specialist as needed.

Main Responsibilities: 

Materials:

  • Ensure that materials are correctly handled, recorded (including receiving, locating, issuing and dispatching) and stored correctly.
  • Effectively maintain all storage areas.
  • Manage clean room garment inventory and liaise with approved contractors for the maintenance of supplies of clean room garments. Ensure gowning supplies are maintained for QC and visitor areas.
  • Ensure inventories are maintained at an acceptable level in stores area for Biomanufacturing and Regen usage. Provide reports on inventory levels as required.
  • Enter all incoming material in stock management system SYBIZ. Update stock movements into SYBIZ.
  • Undertake collection and recording of stock that is required to be passed through into the clean room and QC laboratory. Assist manufacturing with cleaning and passing through of stock.
  • Coordinate waste removal.
  • Monitor and clean stores equipment (refrigerators, freezers).
  • Monitor quality of materials and raise non-conformances and, in conjunction with QA, reject materials that do not meet specifications.
  • Review, revise, and create SMSs, procedures, and related documents as required. Initiate and participate in change control as required.
  • Perform routine stocktakes and participate in EOY stocktakes and audits.
  • Attend departmental and organisational meetings as required.
  • Initiate and execute Lean management tools to remove non- value-added time and activity from materials handling and storage processes.
  • Ensure adequate materials are supplied to pericardia supplier(s) to ensure harvest, processing and delivery of materials can occur according to agreed schedules.
  • Escort untrained staff and contractors through Stores as required.
  • Transfer final product between quarantine and release.

Logistics

  • Work with QC to arrange packing and dispatch of samples for testing.
  • Act as the primary back up for Inventory and Logistics Coordinator duties as required.
  • Prepare temperature-controlled shippers for use in dispatching product.
  • Pick and pack product for dispatch
  • Prepare temperature loggers for LeMaitre, ALR, 4C and Harvey Beef shippers.
  • Book shipments for equipment calibration.

Training

  • Undertake appropriate training as required to effectively perform your role.
  • Complete GMP training at least once, annually.
  • Perform trainer duties.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of GMP and relevant regulatory requirements for materials management.
  • Accurate record keeping skills, attention to detail and general administrative competencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small team and unsupervised.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft computer software.
