The Prefabricated Interior Construction (DIRTT) Commercial Carpenter constructs, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, conforming to local building codes, under the direction of a Site Superintendent or Project Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to Travel to various job sites outside of Nebraska on a rotating schedule basis.
Must be self-motivated and prepared for each day’s work.
Ability to comprehend, interpret and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to interpret scale graphs and read blueprints.
Ability to use common sense to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Must be flexible/adaptable to work in a variety of work settings and with various personalities.
Ability to install drywall, trim, doors, metal studs and associated hardware to the Commercial industry and AOI standards.
Willingness to keep informed of new means and methods of the industry, including the use of technology for communication, and planning or estimating.
Ability to compose and communicate professionally via email.
Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and other construction equipment
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Minimum three years related commercial carpentry experience required. Interior commercial carpentry experience preferred.
Valid and current IA/NE Driver’s license
Interior commercial carpentry and commercial carpentry experience is preferred.
Working knowledge of carpentry, trade, and shop practices.
Completion of a certified apprentice program or technical school program preferred.
Safety certifications such as OSHA 10, Hilti or power tool and laser certifications, First Aid/CPR, Fire Extinguisher Operation Training preferred, but not required. AOI will assist employees to obtain these certifications.
