Job Title: Director of Corporate Compliance

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $111K - $140K

Position Summary: The Director of Corporate Compliance is responsible for overseeing Apkudo’s efforts in maintaining and improving upon our current and future certification efforts. The mission of the Apkudo Compliance Team is to drive a commitment and culture of improvement that ensures we maintain a high level and recognizable standard of compliance, quality and ethics. Apkudo accomplishes this mission through auditing, risk assessments, training and education. The Director of Corporate Compliance is also responsible for ensuring the company adheres to and stays apprised of all applicable laws and regulations within the particular industry.

What you’ll do:

• Manages the company’s various ISO management systems (QMS, ISMS)
• Manages and enforces all company SOC 1 & SOC 2 controls.
• Develops organizational strategies to create and maintain a culture of quality processes and continual improvement.
• Developing a compliance governance infrastructure through team building and process implementation.
• Writing and enforcing compliance related policies and processes.
• Collaborates and coordinates schedules effectively with Apkudo staff.
• Relationship owner with the certification registration bodies and external auditors.
• Establishes and oversees internal audits and reporting schedules
• Works closely with each company segment in an effort to implement and improve operational processes.
• Oversees coordination with internal teams on all actions produced from an audit, management review, etc.
• Proactive in resolving and driving the corrective action process through to resolution for any noncompliance issues.

What you’ll need:

• B.S. or M.S. in business or related field
• 3 - 5 years of experience with ISO Certification Process Audits
• Previous management experience required
• Experience with ISO 9001 standards required
• Experience with ISO 27001 standards required
• Experience in SOC 1 and 2 controls required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong partnership skills
• Strong desire to achieve excellent customer satisfaction, process improvement, and high quality deliverables

The Fine Print:

You also must be able to travel as needed (roughly 0-10% of your time). Depending upon where you live, potential travel locations include sites in the DFW area, Nashville, our corporate headquarters in Baltimore, or other locations as we continue to grow. In general, this is not a travel-centric role.

The physical requirements include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer (though you can use the tech benefit to create whatever desk you’ll work best at).

We are an agile organization, and so the duties and description of this role (like every other at Apkudo) may change at any time as we adapt.
