Barnaby Pelter has extensive work experience in the education and publishing industry. Barnaby is currently serving as the Director of Content and Learning Experience at Apollo English Vietnam, where they manage content and program development to enhance the student learning experience. Prior to this, they worked as the Associate Director R&D at National Geographic Learning ELT, leading a team of editors and publishing successful ELT programs for global and Asian markets. Barnaby also served as the Director at NYU School of Professional Studies Tokyo, where they led faculty and admin teams and expanded programs in critical industry areas. At Oxford University Press, Barnaby held various roles including Market Development Manager for Asia, Managing Editor for Asia and Japan, and contributed to revenue growth and product research. Barnaby began their career as a Senior Editor at Cambridge University Press.
Barnaby Pelter obtained a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford in 1996. Additionally, they have acquired several certifications including an Advanced Certificate in Market & Social Research Practice from the Market Research Society in 2016, a Japanese Language Proficiency Test, Level 1 from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2005, Basic Editing certification from The Publishing Training Centre in 2004, and a CELTA certification from Cambridge English Language Assessment in 1996.
