Elsie Carrillo

Education And Outreach/volunteer Scuba Diver at Aquarium of the Bay

Elsie Carrillo is a dedicated educator and researcher with extensive experience in both teaching and marine biology. Currently serving as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of California, Santa Cruz, Elsie studies aquatic snake functional morphology while teaching undergraduate biology courses. Previous roles include teaching 8th grade physical science and serving as an Ignited Research Fellow, where Elsie presented findings on marine bivalves and snake reproductive modes at national conferences. Additional experience includes volunteering at the Aquarium of the Bay, teaching middle school science and math, and tutoring students at various educational levels. Elsie holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, an M.A. in Education, and a B.A. in Integrative Biology and Marine Science from prestigious institutions.
