Eric Rippetoe

Eric Rippetoe has over 10 years of experience in various roles within the field of IT and cybersecurity. Eric currently serves as the Director of Application Security at Aquia Inc since July 2021. In this role, they develop and implements cybersecurity programs for clients, provides consulting and best-practice recommendations for cloud-based products and services.

Prior to their current position, Eric worked as an Adjunct Faculty in IT at the American Public University System from January 2021 to June 2022. Eric also served as the Chief Information Security Officer at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission from April 2018 to July 2021. In this role, they led the commission's cybersecurity, information assurance, and privacy programs, and implemented new proprietary programs for insider threat detection.

Eric has also held the position of Senior Manager in the Cybersecurity Practice at General Dynamics Information Technology from May 2016 to April 2018. Eric led the development and maintenance of cybersecurity programs for large government contracts and implemented training plans for new hires. Additionally, they worked as an Adjunct Faculty in Cybersecurity at Virginia College from January 2016 to December 2016.

Earlier in their career, Eric served as the Chief Information Officer at ANECA Federal Credit Union from August 2015 to May 2016, where they oversaw the strategic growth of the IT and Marketing departments. Eric also worked as an Adjunct Faculty in Information Technology at Bossier Parish Community College from January 2015 to December 2015.

Before transitioning to the private sector, Eric gained valuable experience in the public sector. Eric worked as a Senior IT Security Specialist at CSC - Computer Sciences Corporation from May 2014 to August 2015, where they led security operations for the TSA's network infrastructure. Prior to that, they served as an IT Business Analyst at BHP Billiton from May 2011 to May 2014, and as a Senior Systems Consultant in the United States Air Force from June 2010 to May 2011.

Eric has proven experience in developing strategies, implementing security measures, and providing guidance and training to staff.

Eric Rippetoe has a strong educational background, with a focus on information technology and security. Eric obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from the University of Arkansas Grantham in 2008. In 2010, they pursued further education at the same university, completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Information Technology Management in 2011.

Continuing their education, Eric pursued a Master of Science degree in Information Assurance and Security from Capella University, which they completed in 2013. Eric then attended the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford in 2020, where they participated in the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme.

In 2022, Eric enrolled in Cornell University, where they obtained an Executive Leadership Certificate. This certification reflects their commitment to developing leadership skills and further enhancing their expertise.
