Michael Schier

Michael Schier has a long and varied work experience. Michael began their career in 2010 as a Summer Engineering Intern at The Pilot Group, followed by an Assistant Master Carpenter role at Whitman College in the same year. In 2012, they returned to The Pilot Group as an Engineering Intern. In 2014 and 2015, they worked as a Product Design Engineer Intern at Amazon Lab126. From 2016 to 2017, they worked at SpaceX as a Structures Engineer and Structures Engineer II, respectively. In 2021, they joined Arc Boat Company as a Vehicle Engineer. Throughout their career, they have designed and analyzed primary and secondary structures, managed tight schedules to design highly engineered parts and assemblies, led teams of welders and technicians, and performed unit-under-test and fixture design and build.

Michael Schier received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Physics from Whitman College between 2008 and 2012. Michael then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, which they completed in 2017.
