Jennifer Cookson

Jennifer Cookson is the current Senior Director of Development at Arcaea. Jennifer has over 8 years of experience in the field of product development, including working with both small startups and large companies. Her experience spans across multiple industries, including personal care, healthcare, and cosmetics.

Jennifer began their career as a Research Scientist at the Warner Babcock Institute for Green Chemistry. There, they worked on developing new technologies and methods for sustainable and green chemistry. After three years, they transitioned to Indigo, a startup that focuses on natural dyes and pigments. As a Senior Research Associate - Formulation Chemist, they worked on developing new formulations for Indigo's products.

In October 2017, Jennifer became the Director of Research & Product Development at Mother Dirt, a company that produces probiotic-based personal care products. There, they led research into the role of topical probiotics in skin inflammatory diseases. Jennifer also oversaw the development of new products from concept to commercialization.

Most recently, Jennifer was the Director of Product Development at Seed Health, where they were responsible for the development of consumer healthcare and personal care products. Jennifer oversaw all aspects of product development, from formulation to safety assessments to regulatory compliance.

Jennifer has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Smith College and a PhD in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Jennifer Cookson's educational career began with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Vermont. Jennifer then went on to study Pharmaceutical Sciences - Cosmetic Science at the University of Cincinnati.

Jennifer Cookson reports to Jasmina Aganovic, CEO. They are on a team with Jaide Jensen - Head of Biotechnology, Kim Biedermann - CTO, and Mary Ma - VP of Growth.
