Director Of Strategic Grantmaking, Great Apes And Gibbons Program at Arcus Foundation

Katy Scholfield has extensive experience in the environmental sector. Katy is currently serving as the Director of Strategic Grantmaking for the Great Apes and Gibbons Program at the Arcus Foundation since May 2021. Prior to this, they held various roles at Synchronicity Earth, including Head of Biocultural Diversity from December 2019 to May 2021, Co-Head of Programmes from January 2018 to December 2019, and Portfolio Lead for Forests, Oceans & Regeneration from July 2011 to December 2017. Katy also worked as a Co-ordinator (maternity cover) at the Environmental Funders Network from June 2013 to March 2014 and served as the Information and Communications Officer at the Community and Voluntary Forum Eastern Region from April 2010 to July 2011. Katy Scholfield has a strong educational background, with a focus on international development, policy management, environment, and economics. Katy obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in International Development and Policy Management from The University of Manchester, which they pursued from 2009 to 2013. Prior to this, they completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Environment and Development from the same university, with a duration from 2003 to 2004. Katy Scholfield also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Environment, Economics, and Ecology from the University of York, which they attained from 1999 to 2002.
