Ceded Operations Manager

Ariel Re is looking for a talented Ceded Operations Manager to join our team. The Ceded Operations Manager will work with the Ceded Underwriting, Operations and Finance teams to support the buying, recording and financial accounting for ceded purchases and the testing and evolution of related systems.
Key accountabilities
• Support ceded reinsurance buying process
• Ensure all ceded reinsurance deals are accurately recorded
• Produce quarterly bordereaux for proportional ceded reinsurance deals
• Monitor ceded reinsurance payments and claims
• Manage ceded reinsurance collateral accounts
• Manage operational relationships with reinsurers and brokers
• Prepare ceded reinsurance quarterly and year-end financial reporting deliverables
• Assist with Lloyd’s regulatory reporting requirements as it pertains to ceded reinsurance
• Assist with the interim and year-end audit processes
• Other management information and analysis as needed
• Develop ceded reinsurance systems and processes
• Other duties as required

Required qualifications, skills & experience
• Accounting designation: CA, CPA, ACA or equivalent
• Associate in Reinsurance designation
• Material progress towards Underwriting designation: CPCU, ACII or equivalent
• Recent experience with Lloyd’s markets
• At least two years of recent, relevant post-qualification experience
• Extensive ceded bordereaux preparation experience
• Recent experience with CenataSure ceded reinsurance system
• Understanding of Lloyd’s company financial reporting
• Recent extensive experience with Xuber policy management system
• Experience in reinsurance accounting, terminology, structures and exposure to reinsurance pricing systems
• Working knowledge of UK GAAP
• Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English
• Flexibility to work nontraditional office hours as needed
