Marina Carpenter

General Counsel & EVP, Public Affairs at Arizona Coyotes

As General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer and Executive Vice President of Public Affairs for the Arizona Coyotes, Marina Carpenter focuses on driving strategic business objectives and efficiencies, and providing counsel to key leaders within the organization.

Marina is an Arizona native and chose to play Division-1 volleyball at Arizona State University, where she was named as an Academic All American twice and ranks second in school history for career assists. She graduated summa cum laude from ASU's W.P. Carey School of Business.

Marina attended law school at ASU and was a member of the Sports & Entertainment Law Journal. She was part of the Lodestar Mediation Clinic and served as a mediator in multiple Arizona Justice Courts. During law school, Marina spent time with the Arizona Diamondbacks as a legal intern.

She began her career at one of Arizona's oldest law firms, Jennings Haug & Cunningham before joining the Coyotes as its Associate General Counsel in 2016. In 2017, Marina took on the additional duties of General Counsel for the Tucson Roadrunners, the Coyotes' AHL team. In 2018, the Club named Marina the General Counsel and Chief of Staff of the organization.

Currently, Marina is tasked with the day-to-day legal needs of the team, oversees litigation matters and risk assessment, and manages all contracts. She helps coordinate varying business dynamics, evaluation of options, and is involved in managing the Coyotes' relationship with the community, business organizations, civic groups, and political entities.
