Who we need
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to effectively manage and coordinate all incoming and outgoing information from various systems related to materials requirements planning as part of the Production Scheduling Team. You will be the liaison between the commercial, engineering, procurement and production teams ensuring transparent communication of progress and issues related to the impact of materials on the schedule. This includes setting up and facilitating the processes and supporting technical structure to consume data sent and published daily from the client and internal department relating to deficiencies, updates, timeline, scheduling, performing transactions within proprietary project management and ERP systems.

The education and experience. You have a diploma or degree in a related field. You have experience determining, assigning, and overseeing tasks in a Lean, fast-paced production environment. You have a process-improvement mindset and an ability to implement exceptional planning and time management. Although not required, process improvement experience or training in Lean, Six Sigma, or PDCA is an asset.
The technical skills. You are proficient with ERP and project management software as well as Microsoft Excel and extremely comfortable developing macros, using VLOOKUP, Index/Match, and PivotTables to work with data; intermediate to advanced knowledge of order processing systems. Experience interpreting CAD and working with Smartsheet and Power Query / BI would be an asset.
The solution-oriented approach. You have an ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. You can interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. You are metrics driven with strong analytical skills and the ability to work with statistics to conduct root cause analysis to assess short-term and long-term production and operational impact.
The interpersonal skills. You have flexible and effective communication skills, and you can build internal and client relationships. You are comfortable facilitating meetings, proposing ideas, and presenting to senior managers.
