Douwe van der Wal

Douwe van der Wal has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and companies. Douwe recently joined Artera as a Machine Learning Engineer in September 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Intern at Salesforce from March 2020 to September 2021. Douwe also held multiple roles at Dutch Nao Team, including Vice President, Programmer, and Treasurer from January 2020 to February 2021, September 2016 to February 2021, and September 2017 to January 2020, respectively. Additionally, they worked as a Research Engineer Intern at Salesforce from September 2019 to November 2019. Douwe gained teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Amsterdam from September 2016 to July 2019. Douwe also worked as a Research Intern at UvA-Bosch DELTA Lab from May 2018 to September 2018. Furthermore, they had the opportunity to participate in the "Seeds for the Future" study trip to China by Huawei in July 2018, where they received training on ICT technologies and solutions. Earlier in their career, they were a Team Leader at J.u.i.c.e. Promotions from March 2016 to October 2016.

Douwe van der Wal obtained a VWO degree with a concentration in profile economy & society from Christelijk Gymnasium Beyers Naudé in the years 2009-2015. Subsequently, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Amsterdam from 2015-2018. Continuing their academic journey, Douwe earned a Master of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Amsterdam between 2018 and 2020. In addition to their formal education, Douwe also obtained a Certificate in Advanced English from the University of Cambridge in June 2014.
