Sarah Lookofsky

Sarah Lookofsky serves as the Director of Kunstnernes Hus since August 2023, leading a prominent contemporary art institution in Norway. Lookofsky has contributed to Artforum International Magazine since January 2011. Previously, as Dean of the Kunstakademiet at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts from July 2020 to July 2023, Lookofsky focused on equitable arts education and artistic research. An extensive tenure at The Museum of Modern Art from October 2013 to July 2020 included roles as Associate Director and Assistant Director of the International Program, where Lookofsky managed strategic initiatives and fostered global partnerships. Additional experience includes curatorial roles and contributions to various art projects and publications. Educational background comprises a Ph.D and MA in Art History from UC San Diego and a BA in Film and Media Studies from the University of Copenhagen.
