Caitlin Poling has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Caitlin started their career at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2015 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, where they managed transcription, assisted with lab publications, and worked on data management and publication editing. In 2016, they became a Sequencing Assistant at the Biofrontiers Next-Generation Sequencing Facility, where they performed wet lab tasks and managed inventory.

In 2018, Poling interned at NASA Ames Research Center, where they developed a database for spaceflight omics data and created analysis pipelines. Caitlin then worked at the Boston University Engineering IT as an Engineering Research Assistant, assisting faculty in operating and troubleshooting software problems. In 2019, they became a Mechanical Engineering Grader at the Boston University Department of Mechanical Engineering, grading assignments for the undergraduate statics course.
