Narayanappa Amruta M.Sc. Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in research. In 2022, they began working as a Research Scientist at Aruna Bio, Inc. and as a Research Professional at The University of Georgia. From 2018 to 2022, they worked as a Research Scientist and a Research Technician at Tulane University School of Medicine. In this role, they developed and evaluated the in vivo efficacy of pharmacological compounds, analyzed and interpreted complex data sets, and set up a Neurosurgery and behavioral Neuro Science lab. Additionally, they characterized a novel mouse model of intrauterine growth restriction, determined the role of sphingolipids synthesis pathway in preeclamptic mouse placenta and kidney of IUGR mouse fetus, and had extensive hands-on experience with mouse carotid artery surgeries. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as a Research Technician and Research Volunteer at the University of Missouri. In this role, they used Bt-trait expressing corn germplasms to test native resistance to major corn insect pests, and evaluated WCR growth and survival using seedling and greenhouse assays.

Narayanappa Amruta obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore in 2007-2011. Narayanappa then went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Seed Science and Technology from the same university in 2011-2013. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Seed Science and Technology from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore in 2013-2016.
