Sonal Chandratre

Dr. Sonal Chandratre has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various roles and responsibilities. Currently, they serve as the Chief Medical Officer at Ascension starting in September 2023. Sonal also holds the position of Pediatric Endocrinologist at Ascension St Michael's Pediatric Outpatient Clinic since July 2020, where they provide specialized care to pediatric patients with endocrine, diabetes, and metabolism issues.

Dr. Chandratre has held several leadership positions at Ascension, including Regional Medical Director for Specialty Care-North from May 2021 to January 2022. In this role, they worked on developing strategic plans for clinical practice growth, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, implementing utilization review and quality improvement systems, and providing pediatric endocrinology services. Prior to their roles at Ascension, Dr. Chandratre served as the Acting Vice President of Clinical Services for the North Central Region at Ascension from July 2021 to August 2021.

Outside of Ascension, Dr. Chandratre worked at Aspirus Health as the Regional Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer starting in August 2021.

Before joining Ascension and Aspirus Health, Dr. Chandratre worked at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Their roles at the institution included being the Founding Director of Medical Writing Electives, Founding Director of Acting Internships, Founding Director of Specialty Longitudinal Integrated Clinical Experience (SPLICE), Course Director for Foundations of Clinical Medicine (FCM), and Faculty Member in the Department of Pediatrics-Division of Pediatric Endocrinology. In these positions, they developed and delivered various curriculum components, mentored and evaluated students, and contributed to the improvement and restructuring of courses.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Chandratre gained valuable experience working as a Senior House Officer in the Department of Pediatrics for various NHS trusts in the United Kingdom.

Sonal holds a D.C.H and M.R.C.P.C.H degree in Pediatrics and Child Health from the Royal College of Pediatrics & Child Health in London, UK.
