We are pleased to share we are currently hiring for the newly created role of Head of Design, and are searching for an inspiring and creative leader to join the team based in our beautiful head office in Alexandria. This person will lead the design team, and work closely with the Creative Director, to execute successful collections across all Assembly Label product lines.

You have extensive experience is fashion design, with technical qualifications in fashion design (or similar). You have understanding and skills in fit and construction, and proven execution and delivery of ranges within our brand DNA. You are proficient in Illustrator and excel, and have technical sketch skills. ​You are enthusiastic and welcome feedback. Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the strategic development and execution of the Assembly Label Design Direction and Product Assortment, Silhouettes, Raw Fabric and Materials, Colour and Pricing Strategy whilst delivering key mood messages and on-brand story telling.

  • Accountable for interpreting market trends - macro and local. Alongside identifying monthly product opportunities which will surprise and delight our customers, whilst delivering exceptional value in line with our creative direction, brand vision.

  • Accountable for creating and presenting seasonal and monthly Trend and Product boards, aligning with stakeholders from vision to consumer feedback.

  • Accountable to build a range that delivers upon the option plan, commercial and creative targets – whilst maintaining brand aligned aesthetic. Reviewing balance of Fashion and Foundational (Seasonal and Core) products.

  • Accountable for collaborating with stakeholders ensuring complete awareness of the seasonal assortment and the sales results across all channels. Understanding the consumer engagement with products, fits, fabrics and colours to identify product and growth opportunities. Keeping an entrepreneurial spirit through the design process.

  • Accountable for leading the fabric / yarn research, sourcing and development, fit and construction development for each injection from design prototype to shipment sample ( in collaboration with the creative product, development & production team).

  • Accountable for developing strong partnerships with our apparel supply base and product development team, communicating clear design, fit, construction quality, cost and required timelines and problem solving any concerns.

  • Accountable for maintaining all products to achieve the intended finished fabrication, fit and styling, by working closely with the product development team from design brief to final approval of samples.

  • Accountable for developing all products inline with our responsible design & sourcing criteria and values.

  • Accountable for working collaboratively with the marketing and commercial team on product knowledge and range vision.

  • Accountable to uphold the Assembly Label culture – a spokesperson for the brand, both internally and externally.

  • Accountable for working with the Creative Director on your own self-development and career growth.
