Sheri-Lyn Angala, MBA, SPHR has significant work experience in human resources, with a focus on managerial roles. Sheri-Lyn is currently serving as the Vice President of Human Resources at Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Kemper as the Human Resources Director for the West Division from August 2021 to August 2022.
Before joining Kemper, Sheri-Lyn worked at PepsiCo for multiple roles, including Senior Human Resources Manager from May 2019 to August 2021, Senior Human Resources Manager from December 2018 to May 2019, Human Resources Manager from January 2017 to December 2018, and Human Resources Associate Manager from September 2013 to January 2017.
Sheri-Lyn also gained experience as a Human Resources Manager at HiHR Hawaii Human Resources from September 2012 to September 2013, and in their early career, they worked in human resources at Matson, Inc. from February 2008 to September 2012.
Sheri-Lyn Angala, MBA, SPHR, has a diverse education history spanning multiple years and institutions. Sheri-Lyn obtained their Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from the University of Hawai'i System. Sheri-Lyn then went on to pursue their Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations at Hawaii Pacific University, where they studied from 2002 to 2004. Continuing their education, they earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Business from Hawaii Pacific University, completing their studies between 2004 and 2006.
In addition to their formal education, Sheri-Lyn Angala has obtained several certifications. Sheri-Lyn became a Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) certified professional through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) in June 2013. Sheri-Lyn further enhanced their expertise in human resources by obtaining another SPHR® certification in November 2019.
Sheri-Lyn Angala has also pursued professional development by acquiring certifications in other areas. In February 2018, they became a certified practitioner of the Myer’s Briggs assessment tool through The Myers & Briggs Foundation. Additionally, in March 2023, they gained membership in the SHRM Executive Network, further expanding their network and industry knowledge.
