Jean-François Bossu has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Jean-François began their career as a Navy engineer in 1986 and worked in this role until 2013. In 2013, they joined Assystem as the Head of Nuclear Risk, where they played a crucial role in ensuring a high level of nuclear safety for the company's customers in the nuclear sector. Jean-François later became a Project Director at Assystem in 2015. In 2016, Jean-François joined MOMENTUM SNC as a Nuclear Safety Specialist, where they worked on the construction management of ITER, the world's largest nuclear fusion experiment. From 2019 to 2021, they served as a Rapporteur de Commission at GIFEN.

Jean-François Bossu has a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Science from École Navale, which they obtained from 1986 to 1988. Jean-François then pursued a degree in Génie atomique, focusing on Reactors and Nuclear engineering, from École des Applications Militaires de l'Energie Atomique from 1991 to 1992. In 2012, Jean-François Bossu attended the Institut des hautes études de défense nationale (IHEDN) as an auditor, specializing in Defense, Geostrategy, and Intelligence. Jean-François also completed a postgraduate program in Défense, Géostratégie et Dynamiques industrielles from Institut Supérieur des Affaires de Défense - Paris II Panthéon Assas University in 2001-2002. Finally, Jean-François Bossu obtained a Master's degree in Military and Navy studies from École de Guerre in 2001-2002.
