Joy David

Joy David has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Joy currently holds the position of Associate Director, Product Quality Lead and Risk Management at Astellas Gene Therapies since August 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Manager, GMP Compliance at FibroGen, Inc. from July 2020 to August 2021. Joy'sresponsibilities involved quality oversight of GXP contract service providers, audit planning and execution, supplier audits, and GMP record management.

Before FibroGen, Joy worked as a Senior Manager, Quality Systems and Compliance at Five Prime Therapeutics, Inc. from May 2019 to December 2019. There, they focused on quality oversight of GXP contract service providers, development of quality system processes and procedures, and implementation of enterprise quality management system upgrades.

Joy's earlier experience includes roles at Bayer as Principal QA Specialist, QA Systems and Compliance from 2012 to 2019, at Thoratec (now Abbott) as a Supplier Quality Engineer from 2008 to 2012, and at Baxter International Inc. as a Principal Quality Engineer in 2007. Joy also worked at Bayer as a Senior Quality Engineer from 2002 to 2007 and as a Computational Chemistry/Chem-Informatics Analyst from 2001 to 2002. Joy'scareer began as an Intellectual Property (IP) Bioinformatics Associate at Incyte from 1996 to 2001, and they also served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Endocrinology at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 1995 to 1996.

Overall, Joy David has demonstrated expertise in quality management, compliance, supplier audits, and quality system development throughout their career in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotech industries.

Joy David graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Joy obtained several certifications in quality auditing, Six Sigma Green Belt, quality engineering, quality management, and quality improvement associate from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) - MENA. The certifications were obtained between 2004 and 2010.
