Paul Bates (AMUG 🦕)

Paul Bates is a seasoned professional in the additive manufacturing sector with extensive experience in training, safety management, and engineering. Currently, Paul Bates serves as the Senior Lead for Training & Certification at both ASTM Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence and ASTM International, focusing on developing training programs for the additive manufacturing community and organizations. Prior to this, Paul Bates held several key positions at UL, including Manager of Facility Safety & Workforce Development and General Manager of the UL AMCC Training Center. Paul Bates' career began at Reebok International, where management of CAD engineering teams and rapid prototyping technology was pivotal. Paul Bates is recognized as an expert in 3D printing and additive manufacturing technologies, with proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese. Paul Bates holds a BS in Design Technology from Bowling Green State University and an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix.
