Ben Ashby has a diverse work experience in the field of education and coaching. Ben started their career in 2003 as a Lecturer and Coach with Wycombe Wanderers Football In the Community Trust and later worked as a Lecturer and Football Coach with Wycombe Wanderers & London Wasps. From 2010 to 2012, they served as a Lecturer and Coach for Innovative Solutions for Education in Partnership with Wycombe Wanderers. Ben also worked as an Assistant Manager for Hungerford Town FC from 2010 to 2014. In 2012, they joined Berkshire College of Agriculture as a Football & Education Manager and Tutor. Ben then moved on to Barnet FC in 2014 where they held various positions including Head of Education & Welfare, Youth Development Phase Coach, and Interim Academy Manager. Most recently, they have been working for Aston Villa Football Club as the Head of Education since 2019.

Ben Ashby completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Coaching for Performance in Football at Anglia Ruskin University from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a BTEC Level 3 in Sport & Exercise Science from Amersham & Wycombe College from 2006 to 2008. Before college, they attended St. Bernard's Catholic School from 2000 to 2006. Ben also pursued teaching qualifications, earning a Diploma in the Teaching Lifelong Learning sector from Abingdon & Witney College and Henley College.
