Andrew Eick

Senior Perception Software Engineer at Astrobotic Technology

Andrew Eick has several years of work experience in the field of robotics and automation. Andrew has worked as a senior autonomy software engineer for Locomation, Inc., and as a perception software engineer for Astrobotic. Andrew has also worked as a robotics engineer for the National Robotics Engineering Center, where they developed algorithms and implemented stereo cameras and LiDAR for automating the process of laying concrete revetment along the Mississippi River. Andrew has been an automated driving R&D engineer for Aptiv and a graduate research assistant at Auburn University, where they developed control algorithms for autonomous off-road vehicles. Additionally, they worked as a masters student intern for Daimler AG, where they developed a method for locating delineators on the sides of roads using LiDAR sensors. Before entering the field of robotics, they worked as a mechanical co-op at MeadWestvaco, where they managed projects and oversaw work at the mill.

Andrew Eick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University from 2009 to 2013. Andrew then pursued a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University from 2014 to 2016.
