Ian Buss

Ian Buss has a varied work experience in the technology industry. Ian began their career as a Data Mining Researcher in 2009 and worked in this role until 2014. From 2014 to 2016, they served as a Senior Solutions Architect at Cloudera. Ian then transitioned to the role of Principal Solutions Architect from 2016 to 2019. Additionally, they held the position of Staff Software Engineer at Cloudera from 2019 to 2020 before being promoted to Principal Software Engineer in 2020. Currently, Ian holds the position of Staff Software Engineer at Astronomer starting from 2022, and in 2023, they were promoted to the role of Principal Software Engineer.

Ian Buss completed their education at the University of Bristol. Ian obtained their MEng degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from 2001 to 2005. Later, they pursued a PhD in Electrical & Electronic Engineering with a specialization in Photonics from 2005 to 2009.
