Lauren Merritt

Associate Scientist I at Atalanta Therapeutics

Lauren has 5 years of academic research experience, mostly in the context of neurobiology. Lauren was previously a Research Associate in the Schafer lab at the University of Massachusetts Medical school studying the role of microglia in neural circuit development and plasticity in the healthy and diseased nervous system. Her most recent projects focused on understanding how microglia contribute to neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis using both primary cell cultures and in vivo methods. Lauren received my B.S. in Biochemistry/Biophysics with a minor in Brain and Brain Behavior from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and my M.S. in Biotechnology from Worcester State University.
