Denise Young

Denise Young has a strong background in operations and strategic planning in the biopharmaceutical industry. Denise is currently serving as the Vice President, Head of Operations at Atara Biotherapeutics since November 2023. Before that, they held the role of Vice President, Global Program Team Lead from September 2021 to November 2023. Prior to joining Atara Biotherapeutics, Denise worked at Amgen for over two decades. At Amgen, they served as the Director of Global Operations from December 2013 to July 2018, overseeing the delivery plans for various programs. Denise also held positions such as Global Operations Senior Manager and Quality Senior Specialist during their tenure at Amgen. Denise brings extensive experience in operations, quality systems, compliance, and strategic planning to their current role at Atara Biotherapeutics.

Denise Young obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from UC Santa Barbara in the period from 1994 to 1998. Later on, they pursued an MBA in Management and Organizational Behavior from California Lutheran University between 2003 and 2005.
